Off the Beaten Path: Community Art Show

Meeting House Arts opens a new show on July 2nd, “Off the Beaten Path.”  This celebration of local creativity and artistic endeavors is being organized for the first time.  Just around the corner from the Waterbury Arts Fest, it is developed as a complement that annual event which will be July 10th and 11th.   The exhibit is at the White Meeting House, 8 North Main Street in Waterbury.

Over twenty area artists in a range of disciplines will exhibit their work.  Two-dimensional works such as painting and photography will join three-dimensional work with ceramics, glass, and wood.  Techniques range from traditional forms such as tatting and quilling to those that require digital inputs and manipulations.  Consistent throughout the show is a dedication to quality and creativity that will inspire and delight.

An open house will be held on Saturday, July 11th in conjunction with the Waterbury Arts Fest.  All are invited to come view the work and meet the artists from 10 AM to 5 PM.  Light refreshments will be available.

Meeting House Arts is a collaborative project hosted by the White Meeting House.  Its goal is to provide more opportunities for local artists to show their work, and for local residents to enjoy more art.  Questions can be addressed to Torrey at 244-8581 or torreycsmith@yahoo.com, or find more information athttp://www.waterburyucc.com/meetinghouse-arts.html.
